THINGS TO DO WHEN YOU’RE HERE

Out and about in Moray & The Speyside area

So, you’ve arrived! We have curated a selection of activities to enjoy whilst you visit Findhorn – all of these are within one hour of the cottage. Great for couples or families.

If 11 miles of pure unspoilt golden sandy beach is not enough to keep you occupied – as I must admit we do not seem to roam very far after arriving in Findhorn, then try wandering the Site of Special Scientific Interest dunes which lead you either to Roseisle or to the back of the Spiritual Foundation and Eco Village.

Alternatively, if you have your sea legs, take the water taxi to Culbin and enjoy losing track of time with a further 12 or so miles of pristine sands and dunes shaped by tide and wind which are owned by the RSPB… and which lead to the mighty Culbin Forest with its many miles of paths and spots to sit and rest at Dragonfly Pool, The Gut, Otter Pool or Maviston Dunes.

DRAMATIC WATERFALLS
& WOODLAND WALKS

Further afield and onwards to perhaps Logie Steading and the serene Findhorn River Walk.

FANCY A WEE DRAM AT THE LOCAL?
FINDHORN HAS THREE PUBS

UNSPOILT BEACH & COASTLINE
JUST A STEP AWAY

Paddle in the water… be brave and have a dip… watch the seals swimming in the Findhorn bay and lounging on the sands.

Then wander up Cluny Hill to the 1806 Nelsons Tower in Forres, or step back in time at the magnificently turreted 16th C Brodie Castle

And if that has built up an appetite – enjoy a welcome lunch break at the superb Kale Yard – situated in the walled garden of Boath House and dating back to 1550 (Don’t forget to wander the lake just beyond the walled garden)

There is no hurry, perhaps another time for some of these days out and excursions! Please though – if you can do shop local in Forres or at Kinloss Wood Side Farm and Coffee shop…
